I am interested in understating brain mechanisms that modulate alcohol consumption. Specifically, how does neural manipulation of specific brain pathways and neural populations change responses to alcohol? As postdoctoral researcher in the Thiele lab, I am currently investigating the role of CRH-expressing neurons within the lateral hypothalamus (LH) on binge-like alcohol consumption. My research involves a combination of chemogenetic manipulations, behavioral measures, pharmacological approaches, and immunohistochemical techniques, using transgenic mouse models.
